HJS creates awareness about anti-superstitions Act during the ‘Saptaah’ held at Bhiwandi !

Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) : A ‘saptaah (week)’ was celebrated in Saint Eknath Maharaj temple. In the ‘keertan’ held during this week, Mr. Ajay Sambhus, the Thane district coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) addressed the gathering and explained to them about how Hindus were going to be misguided by the proposed anti-superstitions Act. Later, he met Acharya Padmasagar Surishwar ji Maharaj, national Jain Saint at the Jain temple, Bhiwandi and submitted a representation to him.

Maharaj strongly condemned the proposed Act. While explaining the topic, Mr. Sambhus said that HJS was opposing the said Act for the past 7 years as passing of this Act can impose ban on Hindus from observing all their traditions, customs, religious observances etc. Citing examples like Saint Dnyaneshwar making a wall walk, making a bull say ‘Vedas’ etc. through ‘keertans’ will also become an offence under the proposed Act; therefore, everyone should oppose this Act and force the Government to cancel the same. Mr. Sambhus also made an appeal to people for participating in the agitation scheduled on 21st March at Azad Maidan as also join the signature drive undertaken by HJS to oppose the Act. About 300 devotees were present on the occasion. Acharya Padmasagar Surishwarji Maharaj commended HJS on learning about its activities. He said. “My blessings are with HJS and I support HJS activities. You are doing the right thing. This Act needs to be opposed. You have support of all Jain people.” Mr. Sambhus gave Maharaj an article to read which was published in the newspaper of Andha-shraddha Samiti defaming ‘Sammed Shikharji’, a place in Jharkhand revered by all Jain Sectarians. Mr. Manoj Jain from Bhiwandi and HJS activists Mr. Kishore Kondalekar, Ravindra Hadake, Avinash Girkar and Abhijit Bhojane were also present on the occasion.
