HJS condemns anti-Hindu debate

Mumbai: At the instance of ANS, the famous Amar Hind Mandal at Dadar, Mumbai has organized inter-collegiate debate competition on the topic Blind faith behind opposing the Blind Faith Bill. The competition will be held on 14th January 2007. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has strongly opposed holding such competition and has demanded for its cancellation. Members of HJS met the organizers and explained to them that, as the proposed Bill has not yet been passed in the Legislative Council due to its anti-Constitutional clauses, MLAs of Shiv Sena, BJP as also HJS is opposing the Bill.

It is therefore, incorrect to call those who are opposing the Bill as believers in blind faith. Calling MLAs as believers in blind faith/black magic amounts to their insult and breach of the special right conferred on MLAs. Due to this, the MLAs can even demand for taking action against the organizers. After the discussions with members of HJS, the organizers expressed their opinion of changing the topic of debate. But HJS has decided to continue opposition till they get some concrete assurance in this regard. On the occasion of Amar Hind Mandal completing 60 years of its existence on 26th January 2007, the competition has been organized on 14th January on five different topics, one of which is the above-mentioned topic on anti blind faith Bill.
