Mumbai : The proposed anti-superstitions Act that Maharashtra Government is trying to pass, will put Jain community in trouble; we will advise elected representatives from our community to strongly oppose this Act and create awareness through discourses, stated Jainmuni Sureshwarji Maharaj and Pujya Devendra Samarji Maharaj.

Recently, a delegation comprising members of Warakari Sampradaya, Jain community and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met them at Jain temples on Malabar Hill and Girgaon when they made the above comment. Pamphlets and circulars, representation giving information about the anti-superstitions Act, how it will be harmful to Dharma were given by Warakari Sampradaya to Jainmunis. Going through the papers, Jainmuni Sureshwarji Maharaj said, “We will create awareness among people through discourses. ANiS always hurts sentiments of Jain community. People from Jain community will be advised to lodge complaints against ANiS.”

The delegation comprised of H.B.P. Bapumaharaj Raokar, Warakari Sect, Mr. Girish Shah of Jain community and Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad.
