There is disgraceful insult of Hindu Dharma and Saint Dnyaneshwar in a Marathi film named ‘Bokad’, directed by Pravin Karale and produced by ‘Hema Films’. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the District coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad has made a demand with the Central Film Censor Board to cancel the certificate of release issud to the said film for trampling religious sentiments of millions of Hindus.

“Saint Dnyaneshwar is revered by the whole world. Warakaris, the devotees of Shri Vitthal, wearing garlands around their neck, undertake pilgrimage every year with great devotion. There are many examples wherein people have got rid of their addictions due to such devotion leading to happy life. In the said film, however, the devotee has been deliberately shown of immoral character and the producers of the film, in a way, have made cruel mockery of Hindu Dharma and Vitthal-devotees, Warakaris.  You should, therefore, take immediate action against the film by taking the matter seriously and prevent discontent among Hindus, in time,”is an appeal made by Mr. Vatkar through a letter, to the Central Film Censor Board.
