Shocking to know BMC’s approving the name of Tipu Sultan to a non-existent Park!

Proposal to name Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road flyover after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj however, not approved because the work is not yet complete!

Please note that BMC, though not granting permission to name a flyover after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra, is prompt in approving the name for a non-existing garden after a Hindu-hater tyrant Tipu Sultan!

Mumbai : In June 2021, Mumbai Municipal Corporation had not granted permission to name Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road flyover after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj because the work was not complete though the work would be over in July 2021. On the other hand, however, it is observed that the BMC Commissioner has promptly approved the proposal of naming a non-existent garden after Tipu Sultan which is quite shocking. (Chaotic administration of BMC ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

Rukhsana Siddiqui, a municipal councilor of Samajwadi Party had recently sent a letter to ‘the Bazar Udyan Samiti (the Samiti)’ demanding to name a Park in Govandi Sahinaka after tyrant Tipu Sultan when there is no such Park. The work to build that Park has not been even started; then why is she so eager to propose Tipu Sultan’s name? How can the BMC administration approve the proposal of giving Tipu Sultan’s name without verifying whether the work of the said Park was completed or not; when the same administration refused permission to name the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road flyover for its incomplete work?

Mumbai : Proposal of naming a park after Tipu Sultan sent for reconsideration after Hindus’ protest

July 16, 2021

  • Outcome of opposition by HJS along with other like-minded organizations !
  • BJP strongly opposes the naming while Shiv Sena opposes the naming giving reason as work being incomplete !

All devout Hindus should continue to oppose, in lawful manner, till the proposal of giving Tipu Sultan’s name is not totally cancelled !

Mumbai : The President of ‘Bazar Udyan Samiti (the Samiti)’, Pratima Khopade has dismissed the proposal of naming a park at Govandi after tyrant Tipu Sultan and sent it back to the municipal administration for reconsideration; owing to the strong opposition by BJP and Shiv Sena’s opposition giving reason as non-completion of work. (Devout Hindu activists expect that BJP and Shiv Sena should jointly oppose this proposal if presented again for discussions !- Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat). In the online monthly meeting of the Samiti held on 15th July 2021, this proposal was presented for approval.

On 14th July 2021, the organizations viz. Hindu Janajaguti Samiti (HJS) and ‘Shri Shivakarya Pratishthan (Vikhroli)’ had submitted a memorandum to the Mayor Sou. Kishori Pedanekar and the Vice President of the Samiti, Shri. Tukaram Patil, besides Shri. Prabhakar Shinde, the group-leader of BJP apprising them of this issue.

In the meeting of the Samiti when the proposal was presented for discussions, Shiv Sena’s municipal councillor Rhutuja Tari informed that the work carried out in this park was not yet complete; therefore, Shiv Sena’s municipal councillors demanded to send back the proposal. At the same time, BJP’s municipal councillors also strongly opposed the name of Tipu Sultan and demanded cancellation of the proposal. Rukhsana Siqqiqui, the municipal councillor, who had brought such a proposal, also asked permission to speak but due to the chaos created in the meeting, the President adjourned the meeting. Samajwadi Party’s municipal councillor Rukhsana Siddiqui had sent a letter to the Samiti demanding to name the park after Tipu Sultan. The Municipal Commissioner had responded positively to the proposal and recommended this name to the Samiti.

Hindus will not tolerate if the proposal of Tipu Sultan’s name is again put up for discussions ! – Dr. Uday Dhuri, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

This proposal has been sent again to the Municipal Commissioner. Congratulations to Mumbai Mayor Sou. Kishoritai Pedanekar and devout Hindu leaders from political parties; but Hindus would not tolerate if such proposal was brought up again. Glorification of tyrant Tipu Sultan would not be tolerated.

We will take to streets if need be; but will not allow naming the park after Tipu Sultan ! – BJP municipal councillors express their view to the Mayor

Mumbai : Tipu Sultan was a fanatic, oppressor and Hindu-hater king. He had declared Mysore as a Muslim State. He had ordered conversion of all Hindus from his State to Islam. He had killed millions of Hindus. Name of such persecutor, known as Aurangzeb of the south, a bad ruler would not be allowed to be given to the park at Govandi and if need be, we will take to streets, was the view expressed by BJP’s municipal councillors before the Mayor, Sou. Kishori Pedanekar.

In the ‘Bazar Udyan samiti’s meeting held on 15th July 2021, BJP councillors had demanded that the proposal of giving Tipu Sultan’s name to a park at Govandi should be cancelled; but they didn’t get a chance to speak in the meeting; therefore, they met the Mayor and expressed their views to her. Shri. Prabhakar Shinde, BJP’s group leader asked whether it was a sign of wisdom to attack Hindus’ symbols of honour or to hurt Hindus’ religious sentiments? He also made a demand to name the park after a great national leader while asking if we had forgotten Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bajirao Peshave and Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi?

Hindus demand with the Mayor not to name a park in Mumbai after tyrant Tipu Sultan

July 15, 2021

Hindus will not tolerate glorification of tyrant Tipu Sultan, known for severe persecution of Hindus, demand pro-Hindu organizations

The government machinery should, in fact, realise such things rather than pro-Hindu organizations have to make such demands !

Mumbai : Samajwadi Party’s municipal councillor Rukhsana Siddiqui has proposed that a park at Govandi, falling under the jurisdiction of ‘M/East’ ward, Division 136 of the Municipal Corporation near Sahinaka Dumping Road, be named after tyrant Tipu Sultan; but Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and other like-minded organizations have made an appeal to Mumbai’s Mayor Sou. Kishori Pedanekar that the park should not be named after Tipu Sultan since Hindus would not tolerate glorification of a tyrant like Tipu Sultan, known for his inordinately torturing Hindus. Similar appeal has also been made to Shri. Tukaram Patil, the Vice President of ‘Bazar and Udyan Samiti’ by submitting a memorandum to him, in person. Such a memorandum has also been submitted to the State Chief Minister and the Municipal Commissioner.

Mayor’s promise to look into the matter !

Shri. Prabhakar Bhosale, the Founder-President of ‘Shri Shivakarya Pratishthan (Vikhroli)’, Shri. Prasad Manakar of HJS and Shri. Sanghathan Sharma, BJP’s secretary from Worli State Legislative Constituency submitted the memorandum when mayor Sou. Kishori Pedanekar promised to look into the matter and also check what was the contribution of Tipu Sultan in Mumbai’s history and the need for giving his name here. She also said that she would verify the administrative rules and regulations in this context.

Salient points mentioned in the memorandum

1. Various places in Mumbai have been named after great national personalities belonging to different religions but we have never raised any objection for the same; but proposing to name a park after tyrant king Tipu Sultan, known for destroying 1000 Hindus’ temples; persecuting Hindu women; killing millions of Hindus and forcibly converting millions of Hindus, would be like hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.

2. If oppressor Tipu Sultan’s name is given to a park today, there would be demands to give names of even other cruel Mughal kings such as Aurangzeb, Babar, Khilji, Mohammad Gazani, Mohammad Ghouri, Taimur lang, Tughalaq etc ; therefore, the municipal corporation should not commit such sin.

Municipal councillor Rukhsana Siddiqui has written a letter to ‘Bazar Udyan Samiti’ for naming the park after Tipu Sultan and unfortunately, the Municipal Commissioner has responded positively to such demand by recommending the same to ‘Bazar Udyan Samiti’. This matter is likely to be discussed and approved in the monthly meeting of ‘Bazar Udyan Samiti’ scheduled on 15th July 2021. (Hindus should continue to oppose in lawful manner, against giving approval to the proposal of Tipu Sultan’s name !- Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
