‘Warkaris’, ‘Keertankars’ and ‘Pravachankars’ should impart Dharma education to Hindus ! – Manoj Khadye, HJS Coordinator for West Maharashtra, Konkan and Gujarat
Ratnagiri : The management of ‘Sri Vitthal-Rukmini’ temple of Pandharpur was first taken over by the State Government in 1985. Only a few Hindus had opposed the same at that time. ‘Warkaris’ from all over the State had, however, not opposed the Government for taking over management of temples. Hindus had felt at that time that it was a matter related to the temple at Pandharpur and the local people or ‘Warkaris’ would handle it. In fact, Hindus’ temples are the foundation stones of Dharma through which we get ‘Chaitanya (divine consciousness)’ but most of the Hindus were not aware of this science; therefore, there was not much opposition to this issue. As a result, several temples were later taken over by the Government in stages. Today, ‘Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti’ under the aegis of a government committee has taken over 3067 temples from west Maharashtra and Sindhu-durga. It shows the necessity to explain ‘Dharma-shaastra’ to Hindus. There is therefore, a need of the hour for our ‘Warkaris’, ‘Keertankars’ and ‘Pravachankars’ to impart ‘Dharmashikshan’ to Hindus. The above appeal was made by Shri. Manoj Khadye, the Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for west Maharashtra, Konkan and Gujarat State during an online program of ‘Bhakti-Mela’ organised by HJS for ‘Warkaris’, ‘Keertankars’ and ‘Pravachankars’ from Ratnagiri district. They joined the program from different parts of Ratnagiri district.
Shri. Manoj Khadye explained the need of performing spiritual practice in the prevailing time; how we can do ‘Dharmaprasar seva’ effectively in the pandemic period; various attacks on Hindu Dharma and activities undertaken through various media by HJS to oppose these attacks.
Feedback by ‘Warkaris’ participating in ‘Bhakti-Mela’
1. H.B.P. Vasant Maharaj Chavan, President, ‘Warkari Sampradaya Gatha Parayan Samiti’, Alore Panchkroshi – The subject of ‘Dharmajagruti’ should reach each and every village. You can call us any time, we will always be there with you and take your work ahead.
2. H.B.P. Siddhesh Maharaj Palande, Yuva ‘Keertankar’ – Got inspiration through the guidance. Everyone should extend cooperation in ‘Dharmakarya’. It is now time to tell people that chanting would save us in the adverse times.
3. H.B.P. Nandakumar Kalekar Maharaj, Karanjani, Taluka Dapoli – The program organised today by HJS was very nice. There is a need to ponder over this issue today. If such a program is organised once every fortnight, it will help in creating awareness amongst people. It will also help in presenting these issues in ‘keertan’ and ‘pravachan’.
