Mumbai : The monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly will end tomorrow. The Government was unable to present the anti-Hindu ‘anti-superastitions Bill’ for discussions during the past two weeks; but it can be brought up for discussion tomorrow. In this context, a delegation comprising office bearers of  Rashtriya Warakari Sena, Sects and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met MLAs and explained to them about the harmful nature of the proposed Act. MLAs from the ruling and Opposition parties promised them to oppose passing of the Act till the end.

In the past two days, the delegation met 45 MLAs from various parties and discussed the matter with them making them known the detrimental provisions of the Bill. Even the MLAs from ruling parties have promised to oppose the Act.

A Congress MLA : All MLAs wear rings of different stars and planets on their fingers. This Act will make them remove even these rings. We are against this Act.

Letter by BJP MLA Chandrashekhar Bavankule to the CM against the Act !

The proposed anti-superstitions Act will hurt faith of millions of Warakaris in great Saints and their abiding by ancient traditions. Some of the clauses are superfluous and encroachment on religious and human rights spreading strong anger and dissatisfaction amongst millions of Warakaris leading to staging of huge agitations by them. The promise made by the Chief Minister and the Minister for Social Justice regarding setting up coordination committee of Warakaris in connection with the proposed Act has not been kept. Mr. Chandrashekhar Bavankule, a BJP MLA from Nagpur has, therefore, written a letter to the CM for deferment of the Bill till the demands of Warakaris are not met.
