2. It has been stated in the representation that when Pakistan was created on the basis of religion, Hindus from Pakistan believed in the promise given by Mohandas Gandhi and continued to live in Pakistan. Gandhi promised for their security; however, the present condition of Hindus in Pakistan is quite frightening. Since they have not adopted Islam, Hindus are facing cruel racism and severe distress, compelling them to come to India to save their life and Dharma.
3. In such situation, it is the duty of the Government to give them shelter. Bharat is an important land of Hindus and is the only place of shelter for Pakistani Hindus. America gives shelter to even gay foreign citizens on humanitarian grounds. During the Second World War, India had given shelter to Jews, to Tibetians when Tibet was attacked by China and writer Tasleema Nasreen from Bangla Desh. Similarly, Pakistani Hindus should also be given shelter.
4. Giving citizenship to Pakistani Hindus, extending financial and social security to them and taking stringent action against Pakistan for protection of Pakistani Hindus, were the main demands made in the representation.
