Movement for immersion of Sri Ganesha idols in flowing water !

Mumbai : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been working for protection of Nation and creating awareness amongst people towards Dharma using various mediums for the past 8 years. As a part of this mission, HJS undertakes drive to prevent malpractices taking place in celebration of Ganesha-festival and celebration of this festival as per science creating awareness amongst people. A representation was submitted to Mr. Sunil Prabhu, Mumbai Mayor and Mr. Rahul Shevale, the Chairman of Standing Committee demanding that Mumbai Municipal Corporation should opt for immersion of Sri Ganesha idols in sea or natural water bodies instead of artificial water tanks. The delegation that submitted the representation comprised of Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the coordinator of HJS, Mr. Rajan Bunage of Sanatan Sanstha and Mr. Satish Sonar of HJS. Mr. Prabhu, Mayor of Mumbai gave positive response in this context and assured to take necessary action. Chairman Mr. Shevale said, “HJS activities have our support. Further action will be taken after discussing the matter with the Mayor.”  Mr. Vatkar appealed that there is famine and water shortage in the State. Erecting artificial water tanks wastes billions of rupees of MMC and  consequently of people; therefore, artificial water tanks should not be erected.
