Ban on sale of Sri Ganesha idol made of PoP

Commendable decision of Nagpur Municipal Corporation !


Nagpur (Maharashtra) : In a recently held meeting, Nagpur Municipal Corporartion (NMC) passed unanimous resolution imposing ban on sale of Sri Ganesha idols made of Plaster of Paris (PoP). Mayor, Mr. Anil Sole informed the members that the decision was taken considering pollution of water and in environment so also religious sentiments of people. The vendors should not keep idols made of PoP for sale. If they still sell idols made of PoP, such idols will be confiscated. People should also insist for idols made of clay, he appealed to them.
