Proposed slaughter-house at Ashta is cancelled : Outcome of agitations by Hindus !

Ashta (Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra) : Mr. Vilasrao Shinde, former MLA of NCP informed in a press conference that considering the opposition from local residents, the proposed slaughter-house at Ashta has been cancelled. (Congratulations to all organisations that opposed with untiy and forced cancellation of the proposed slaughter-house! – Editor SP) 

Mr. Vilasrao Shinde said…..

1. Around Rs. 300 crores were to be invested and 800 people were to get employment with this project. Other ancillary Industries / business could have come up based on this project and Municipality would have obtained one more means of income.
2. I had issued ‘NOC’ to this slaughter-house as my personal responsibility.
3. Attempts were made to make this issue religious and sentimental. Various marches were held; agitations were held. If, therefore, people do not want, it will be proper to cancel the project.
4. Resolution will be passed in the Municipality within a week and the concerned Company would be accordingly informed !
5. On receiving the news about cancellation of slaughter-house, there was great jubilation.

Sangli District Warkari Sect opposes proposed slaughter-house at Ashta

Ashta (Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra) : Sangli District Warkari Sect’s organisation has made a demand to cancel the proposed slaughter-house to be set up at Ashta through a representation submitted to Ashta Town Council. Warkari Sect has strongly condemned killing animals as it is a sin. Instead of killing animals under the name of so-called progress, it is better to earn money using righteous ways. If such heinous project is not cancelled, Warkaris will stage agitations in lawful manner, was the warning given through the representation.

Issue of slaughter house at Ashta  : Silent march by traders’ federation; total ‘bandh’ in city

Ashta (Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra) : Opposition to the proposed slaughter – house is increasing day by day and as a part of opposition, traders federation took out a silent march in Ashta today. On appeal made by the federation, total ‘bandh’ was observed in the town. All grocery shops, traders, cycle shops, ‘paanwalas’ so also petrol pumps were closed today. Traders expressed their anger through the ‘bandh’ and march.

More than 7000 Hindus and Jains protest against cow slaughter house

Ashta (Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra) : ‘Whether slaughter-house causes pollution is a secondary matter; however, there should be no slughter house not only on the auspicious land of Ashta but any where in Maharashtra. The vegetarian people gathered here today, will show the rulers their place in the elections of 2014.  Politicians are being cautioned through this march; else, there is no guarantee that the next march would be peaceful. The above blunt warning was given by Mr. Abhinandan Khot of Indian Jains’ Organisation.  

R. L. M. Foods Stuff Pvt. Ltd. is the company which is going to set up a slaughter house in Ashta. A number of supporters of cow, pro-Hindu activists, ‘Bharateeya Govansh ani Jaivik Krushi Samiti’, Jain, NCP, Congress, Sree Shiva-pratishthan, Shiv Sena, BJP, Ankush Godse, Mahesh Swami, Gaurav Nayakwadi, Sudhir Patil, advocate, Mohan Patil etc. took out a huge march to Ashta Municipal Office in which more than 7000 supporters of cow participated. The march was taken out under the initiative of ‘Kattalkhana Virodhi Kruti Samiti (Action Committee opposing Cow-slaughter)’. (Congratulations to all devout Hindus for uniting against construction of slaughter – house !  All Hindus need to show such unity against every attack on Hindu Dharma !- Editor SP) 

Mr. Pratik Patil, State Coal Minister took part in the march for a short while and he addressed the participants. He said that why such situation should arise that people have to take out a march ? He said, “I will meet the Chief Minister and Sonia Gandhi, if necessary, for cancellation of construction of slaughter – house. I am with you.”

It was decided to take out even bigger march at Sangli if counstruction of slaughter house was not cancelled by 2nd October.
