Pro-Hindu organisations observe a day’s hunger strike and stage demonstrations against denigration of Bhagavan Shiv in TV serial titled ‘Devon ke Dev Mahadev’ on ‘Life OK’ channel

Navi Mumbai : Pro-Hindu organisations recently observed a day’s hunger strike and staged demonstrations in Shiva Temple at Ghanasoli against denigration of Mahadev in a serial titled ‘Devon ke Dev Mahadev’ telecast on a  private TV channel  ‘Life OK’. Pt. Neelesh Maharaj has warned to intensify the agitation till public apology is not rendered to all Shiva devotees and devout Hindus for denigrating Bhagavan Shiv and Mata Parvati.

Pt. Neelesh Maharaj Joshi, the Priest of Shiva Temple, Ghanasoli has written a protest letter to ‘Life OK’ channel. No satisfactory reply has, however, been received from the channel in this connection in its reply and the denigration is going on. The serial is creating wrong impressions on the mind of Hindu children. One day hunger vstrike was therefore, observed and demonstrations staged in Shiva Temple with the demand to immediately stop such denigration and discontinue the serial. Hunger strike was observed from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. in which 25 priests of Shiva temples from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai took part.

Representatives of various organisations like Warakari Sect, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Sanatan Sanstha, Veer-ratna Baji Bandal, Maharudra Bajiprabhu Pratishthan and Shiv sena also participated in the agitation. 550 Shiva-devotees and devout Hindus joined the signature drive to register their protest. About 100 devout Hindus took part in the agitation.

Mockery made in the serial :

1. Bhagavan Shiv and Mata Parvati have been shown in a very despicable manner in this serial.
2. Nandi has been shown without horns.
3. Bhagavan Shiv kicks Nandi.
4. ‘Suhaag Raat’ of Bhagavan Shiv and Mata Parvati has been shown.
5. Bhagavan Shiv has been shown in modern clothes.
