Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra) : During the regime of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the British erected a warehouse at Rajapur and stocked up coconuts and salt. Later, they sold the stock at 4 times higher price and earned lot of profit. When Shivaji Maharaj heard about this, he levied 500 times tax over things brought by the British and increased the sale of indigenous goods. This history is, however, not taught to us.

Four years before Gandhiji started ‘Swadeshi’ movement, Veer Savarkar had burnt foreign goods. But it is taught that Gandhiji was the pioneer of ‘Swadeshi’ movement because there is politics behind this. Today, the Government is increasing foreign investment; therefore, it has become necessary to propagate ‘Swadeshi’ movement and Saints are taking initiative in this. We are getting indigenous, pure and ‘sattvik’ goods through them. My best wishes to ‘Sadguru Sant Sahitya’ Centre. The above views were expressed by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the national spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) during its inauguration.

The program was attended by other dignitaries viz. H.B.P. Andhale Maharaj, Bhagavatacharya Uday Maharaj Gondikar, Shiv Sena’s MLA, Mr. Pradip Jaiswal, its district – President, Mr. Ambadas Danave, its municipal councillors, Mr. Samir Rajurkar and Mrs. Prajakta Bhale, its area-chief, Mr. Mangal Bhale etc.

‘Sattvik’ products and books published by institutions of Pu. Asarambapu, Pu. Baba Ramdev, Ramkrushan Mission and Sanatan Sanstha are available at this Centre. MLA, Mr. Pradip Jaiswal said, “All Saints are creating awareness towards Hindu Dharma and such Centres are the need of the hour.” MP Chandrakant Khaire sent his good wishes through a message on this occasion.
