On the occasion of Ganeshotsav, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti submitted a memorandum to the Police officers of Chickamagalur, Hassan, and Coorg Districts, and to the concerned Police stations to ensure the ideal celebration of Ganeshotsav. It also requested them to stop use of DJs, forcible collection of money, screening of movies, vulgar dancing, consumption of alcoholic drinks during procession, smoking etc.

1. When HJS members met the Superintendent of Police for the second time, SP promised them that he would issue orders for taking action for these malpractices and send message to all mandals not to use DJs. During this meeting, a proud Hindu who accompanied HJS activists requested SP issue press release. The SP witnessed the signature of various office bearers of Ganesh Mandals on their letterheads which were collected by HJS, and issued orders to stop the malpractices during Ganeshotsav. He also issued a press release in which he warned all the office bearers of mandals to stop using DJs and appealed them to stop above malpractices during Ganeshotsav. The District Collector also ordered similar steps to be taken during Ganeshotsav.

2. Twenty days before, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti submitted an appeal to police officers at Madikeri police station to ban the malpractices during Ganeshotsav. The copy of this appeal was forwarded to all the mandals by the police. The police also gave an opportunity to a proud Hindu to record the appeal and gave it to Akashvani, which arranged for its broadcast for 3 days.

3. A proud Hindu Mr. Ramesh and Mr. Shivaram, Presidant of Shri Kannika Parameshwari temple conducted a signature campaign and collected signatures of  various doctors and officers against the use of DJs in Ganeshotsav on their respective letterheads. These two individuals possess the intense yearning to stop the malpractices during Ganeshotsav such as bursting crakers, using DJs etc. and they only arranged the press meet on behalf of HJS.

4. When the appeal was submitted to the Police Officer of Chikamagalur, he admired the activities of HJS and emphasized that lady activists of HJs were performing excellent work. He suggested us that this appeal be submitted to Thahasildar and Nagarasabha President also.

Number of Holy texts were also displayed during this satsang, and the curious attendees showed interest in the contents of these Holy texts.

After the conclusion of the satsang, all those present agreed for holding satsangs every week. Hence, it was announced that a satang would be held every Friday at 6 PM.
