Pune : ‘Gou-rakshaks’ save hundreds of cattle endangering own life

‘Gou-rakshan’ week observed by ‘Akhil Bharatiya Krushi Gou-seva Sangh’, Pune

Pune (Maharashtra) : The activists of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Krushi Gou-seva Sangh (Sangh)’ endangered own life to save cattle from getting slaughtered on the occasion of Bakr-Id’ resulting in protecting hundreds of cows, bulls, calves etc. from getting killed. (Congratulations to all activists of ‘Sangh’ who are always ready to rush to the rescue of cows and work round the clock to save them from butchers ! Hindus should take inspiration from the acts of Gou-rakshaks (saviors of cows). Be active and see to it that henceforth, not a single cow will come under the knife of butchers ! – Editor SP) Cattle thus released has been taken to Matoshree Gou-shala at Kamshet and ‘panjarpol (animals shelter house)’ at Bhosari. Under the guidance of Mr. Milind Ekbote, the activists worked with lot of energy, enthusiasm and bravery.

‘Kanjarbhat’ community resolves to stop sale of cattle to butchers in Chakan market !

As a part of their drive to protect cattle, the activists handed over a copy of circular issued by the Government to the Superintendent of Police at Chakan for prevention of illegal slaughtering. Thereafter, a meeting was held by Police inspector, Susheel Kadam and Mr. Rale of ‘Krushi Utpanna Bazar Committee’ with the activists. Cattle used to be openly sold to butchers in the market held at Chakan. Mr. Somnath Bhosale, Yogesh Saswade and Ajit Shelar, the activists of ‘Sangh’ went to the market and saved 22 bulls. The activists created awareness amongst Kanjarbhat community towards protection of cows leading to people from the community decided to take the responsibility of preventing sale of cattle in the market. Result of patrolling on ‘toll-nakas’ : 150 bulls taken to ‘Gou-shala’ instead of abattoirs !

The activists were patrolling on ‘Toll-nakas (Toll collection centers)’ at Shikrapur, Khed Shivapur and Mumbai – Pune Highway leading to saving 150 bulls. The activists kept a vigil on vehicles plying on the roads leading to abattoirs and saved many cattle that was later, taken to ‘Gou-shalas’. Kanjarbhat community had also resolved to fight for protection of cattle and people from the said community at Khed Shivapur joined activists in saving cattle. As awareness was created amongst people from Kanjarbhat community, they joined the drive of protection of cattle with so much aggressiveness that butchers did not dare to get down from vehicles.

Cows from the doors of fanatics also saved with the help of police !

In the Kondhva area, the activists continued their drive with full swing. They saved cows tied near the doors of fanatics with help of police staff viz. Mr. Thopate and PSI, Mr. Pocharkar from Crime Branch. 

Complaint lodged against police who tried to let the vehicles pass for slaughtering of cows

At the ‘toll-naka’ of Khed-Shivapur, people from Kanjarbhat community had caught few vehicles illegally transporting cattle. The activists went to the police station at Khed-Shivapur; but instead of extending help to the activists, police admonished the activists and threatened them to file cases against them under clause 395. Mr. Milind Ekbote of ‘Samasta Hindu Aghadi’ has lodged a complaint against the concerned police officers who exhibited their detestation towards cattle.
