Hunger strike started from today by ‘Rashtriya Goraksha Samiti’ for protection of cows

For important demands like passing of an act for protection of cows, conferring special rights to organisations engaged in ‘Goraksha’, among others, have been made by ‘Rashtriya Goraksha Samiti (RGS)’ and it will be undertaking token hunger strike under the leadership of H.B. P. Bhagavan Vitthal Kokare, ‘Gorakshak  Yuwa Krantiveer Saint’ between 2nd and 5th November 2012 at Azad Maidan. It has also been proposed to take out a huge rally, from Chowpatty to Mantralaya, on the last day of the agitation. 

More than 300 organisations like Warakari Sect, Jain Dharmik Sanghatana, Shri Vardhaman Parivar, Shri Sampradaya, RSS, VHP, Hindu Sangram Sena, Sanatan Sanstha, Bharat Swabhiman Sanghatana, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Bajarang Dal, Swadhyaya Parivar, Shri Akhil Bharateeya Krushi Goseva Sangh, Go-rakshak Sena, Shiva Pratishthan, Sarvodaya Sanghatana, Swami Narayan Sampradaya, Akhada Parishad, Shri Datta Sampradaya, Swabhimani Shetakari Sanghatana, Samartha Sampradaya, Sikh Sampradaya, Chhava Sanghatana etc. will be joining the agitation.

Main demands

1. A law banning cow-slaughter applicable to whole of Maharahstra should be passed and implemented strictly and ably like the law for preservation of animals.

2. Export of meat should be banned by law.

3. Written permission of Grampanchayat Sarpanch, Police Patil or ‘Tanta-mukti’ President should be obtained for sale or purchase, import and export of cattle in Maharashtra and such provision should be made in law.

4. Gorakshak organisations and individual protectors of cows in Maharashrta should be issued identity cards and conferred right to conduct inquiry into incident related to any illegal matter with reference to cows/ cattle.
