Pataliputra (Bihar) : Anti-Hindu painter M F Husain’s work was exhibited in Arts and Craft College at Pataliputra (Patna), the Capital of Bihar. (M F Husain had drawn indecent, nude paintings of Hindu Deities and Bharatmata for which people from all over the country had registered strong protest. Many cases were filed against Husain in Court for hurting religious and patriotic sentiments of people; still holding exhibition of Husain’s work is anti-Hindu act ! – Editor SP)

In this exhibition, 39 paintings by Husain were displayed. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had sent a letter protesting against holding of such exhibition. It was stated in the representation of HJS submitted to Prof. (Dr.) Kriteshwar Prasad of the above College that by holding such exhibitions, wrong message will be sent to the students i.e. future generation of this country; therefore, the exhibition should be cancelled immediately; but exhibition was held without taking cognizance of the representation. (Hindus should protest against such colleges, in lawful manner, which do not pay attention to the religious sentiments of Hindus ! – Editor SP)

The exhibition was held at ‘Takshila Art Gallery’ in the premises of this College. In his inaugural speech, the former Principal Shyam Sharma of the college said that Husain was of the view that women should be given due rights and it is shown in his work. (Husain’s work exhibits vulgarity.  Husain tried to sell indecency under the guise of woman’s beauty; does not Mr. Sharma realize this ? – Editor SP)
