Shahapur (Thane, Maharashtra) : Air and noise pollution created by crackers adversely affects human health. Every year, there are incidents of fire occurring due to crackers causing huge loss to property and life. Such firework therefore, means loss caused to the Nation, loss caused to Dharma and to health. Hindus should seriously think whether to burst crackers. The above appeal was made by Mr. Ajay Sambhus, the district coordinator of HJS for Thane district in a press conference held at the Government Rest House in Shahapur.
Mrs. Vedika Palan of Sanatan Sanstha explained the spiritual importance of Diwali appealing to people to celebrate the festival as per science.
Highlights : Many journalists made enquiry about Dharma-shikshan classes and opined that there was a need for such classes today.
HJS makes demand with UP Govt.
Representations submitted at Varanasi
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) : Representations were submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to the Uttar Pradesh Government for prevention of desecration of Deities and great national heroes taking place during Diwali by bursting crackers with their pictures.
1. Additional District Collector (Nagar), Mr. Mangalprasad Singh was submitted the representation when he promised to extend cooperation and commended activities of HJS.
2. In the absence of Commissioner of Varanasi- zone, his senior administrative officer, H. K. Singh promised to take immediate action. He said, “Your drive is good. Somebody is coming forward from the society and working in the interest of the Nation, is even better.”
3. Mr. G. L. Meena, the Inspector General of Police of Varanasi Zone said that he agreed with the views expressed in the representation and promised to send letters to 10 districts under his jurisdiction for the same.
Advocate Mr. Deshratna Shrivastav, advocate Mr. Arun Kumr Maurya, Dr. Ajaykumar Jaiswal, Mr. Rajesh Seth and activists of HJS viz. Chandrashekhar, Rajan Kesari, Rakesh Sonawali and Mrs. Prachi Juvekar took part in the above drive.
