New Jersey: In an Indian shop called ‘Subzi-Mandi’, pictures of Hindu deities of about 4 ft. height, were displayed. One supporter of HJS found that the pictures had become dirty, there was lot of dust on those pictures and the pictures were torn and crumpled. After finishing her purchases from the shop, she met a person from the shop and explained that it was not proper to keep pictures of deities in that fashion.
The person was convinced and took her to the manager of the shop. She explained to the manager also, when he accepted that unknowingly, such mistake had occurred. But he asked her that how the customers would know that the shop has pictures of deities on sale if pictures are not displayed. She also suggested that they can prepare a board and display it in the shop and the pictures can be rolled up and can be kept neatly. On the following day, it was found that the manager had followed her advice and stopped the denigration of deities.
