Mumbai : The management of Prabodhankar Thakare theatre has informed that the scheduled program of anti-Hindu comedian Munawar Faruqui, who always insults Hindus’ Deities through his programs, has been cancelled. The program titled ‘Dongri to Nowhere’ by Munawar Faruqui was scheduled for 29th October at Prabodhankar Thakare theatre, but considering the background of Munawar Faruqui known for constantly abusing Hindus’ Deities, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) opposed this program. HJS along with other devout Hindus gave a letter to the management of Prabodhankar Thakare theatre on 26.10.2021, requesting them to cancel this program. They also warned the theatre management of staging demonstrations outside the theatre if the program is not cancelled.

1. Munawar Faruqui had made the most objectionable comments about Hindus’ Deities and the Central Home Minister Amit Shah during a program at Indore (Madhya Pradesh). He was arrested in this context, but he has been currently released on bail.

Program cancelled for safety of the audience! – Munawar Faruqui

Munawar Faruqui has posted a message on social media about cancellation of his programs scheduled on 29, 30, and 31st October 2021. He has stated in his message that the programs were cancelled for the safety of the audience. (By using the words ‘safety of the audience’, Munawar is trying, in a way, to portray Hindus as extremists. Munawar should tell about the people issuing fatwas if their seats of worship were insulted. Would Munawar dare to arrange such programs if Hindus were extremists? – Editor, HinduJagruti.org)

MMC informs HJS about cancellation of the program!

The Hindu groups alleged that his shows are ‘anti-Hindu’ and threatening his impending event claiming that it will hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.

Tagging Mumbai police in their tweets, the people are demanding a ban on his upcoming shows in Mumbai. However, there has been no response from the city police yet.

Yogi Devnath, a Gujarat-based Sadhu Samaj member took to Twitter and wrote, “I did not allow even a single program of this Anti-Hindu Munawar Faruqui To happen in Gujarat Now Mumbai Also Says #GoBackMunawar.”

It is to be noted that a few weeks ago, Faruqui’s proposed tour to several cities of Gujarat and was opposed by the Hindutva groups. Militant Bajrang Dal from the state pledged that it wouldn’t let the comedian perform and also issued a warning to the organisers to cancel his shows.

A Twitter handle, Saffron Think Tank, is also actively campaigning to ban the comedian from performing.

“#GoBackMunawar We won’t allow @munawar0018 to spread any more #HinduPhobia. All #Hindu Orgs shall unite to cancel his #Mumbai Shows. He has hurt sentiments of Hindus by making fun of #HinduGods. @bookmyshow you will also face consequences for selling his tickets. #MunawarFaruqui,” read a tweet by the handle.
