Alandi (Dist. Pune, Maharashtra) : The existing laws are adequate to eradicate superstitions; there is no need for a new anti-Dharma anti-superstitions Act. It is being falsely propagated that Warkaris opposition to this Act has now mellowed down. In fact, the opposition of Warkaris to this Act was very strong earlier, is as strong now and will remain strong even in future considering that the Act would attack seats of worship of Hindus. An appeal was made by H.B.P. Prakash Maharaj Javanjal during the 8th State-level Warkari Convention to join the rally proposed to be taken out on 19th December against the above Act and for implementation of Act banning cow-slaughter.
Various dignitaries expressed their views on the occasion. The Convention was attended by hundreds of Warkaris. Many dignitaries and Saints participating in the Convention opposed the proposed anti-superstitions Act. This Convention has now clarified that Warkaris do oppose this Act. A warning was also given to the Government that if the Act was passed despite opposition, the Government would have to step down. The Convention has, therefore, given a blow to the Government and it can review its stand by re-considering all aspects of this Act. Hindus have a feeling that only Vaishnav Warkari community and Maharashtra Rajya Warkari Mahamandal are responsible for the blow given to the Government.
