There should be a ban on crackers not only during Hindu festivals but also in all other programs : HJS

Use the money for the family instead of wasting millions of rupees in bursting crackers when the country is going through a financial crisis !

Ban should be imposed on bursting crackers not only for celebrating Hindu festivals but such ban should also be implemented while celebrating victory in cricket matches; inaugurating IPL matches; holding programs of film stars and celebrating Christian New Year. It is improper on the part of the Governments or Courts to discriminate based on caste, religion, etc while imposing a ban on crackers. Presently, there is tension on the borders of our country. The country is going through a financial crisis. At such times, Hindus should spend their money on the needs of their family rather than spending millions of rupees on crackers during Diwali, is an appeal made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS).

HJS has been undertaking a drive for the last 19 years to stop pollution caused due to the bursting of crackers and denigration of Deities’ pictures taking place due to such pictures printed on crackers. HJS uses various modes under its drive such as distributing handbills on the subject, submitting memorandum to the Governments, creating awareness through social media, and holding online discussion programs. Many patriotic citizens participate in the drive. Pictures of Deities like Shri Lakshmi, Shrikrushna; so also, pictures of great national leaders like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose or other seats of worship are printed on the covers of crackers, leading to their denigration. In Diwali, we worship Shri Lakshmi Devi and burst crackers with her picture which gets shredded to pieces, resulting in grave insult of the Deity. Will we acquire Shri Lakshmi Devi’s grace by doing such things? Hindus need to seriously think about this matter. Besides, Chinese crackers are presently sold on a large scale in Indian markets. China is using the money earned in India, against India. The citizens of this country should, therefore, avoid any activity that will help our enemy country.
