‘Vaarsaa Shiv-shahiranchaa, Jaagar Hindutvaachaa!’ Program- Homage to Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare
Such power, people and nation should be created so that Hindustan’s ‘Swatantrya-Lakshmi’ would stay with the saffron flag, was the message given by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. ‘Shivshahir’ Babasaheb Purandare worked to reach that message to the heart, intellect and subconscious mind of every youth. History will have to take a note of the mission undertaken by ‘Shivshahir’ Babasaheb Purandare and his mission will have to be carried on the same path as followed by him, which would be a true homage to him, stated Pujya Sambhajirao Bhide Guruji, the founder of ‘Shri Shivapratishthan Hindustan’, during the online special program held by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) titled ‘Vaarsaa Shiv shahirancha, Jaagar Hindutvacha (legacy of Shiv-shahir, acclaiming Hindutva)’.
Pujya Bhide Guruji said further that Babasaheb lived for Hindustan and Hindus. He wrote the biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which will be useful for all those who wish this country to be a self-respecting country, that would preserve her freedom, culture and traditions from the clutches of foreigners. We should read this book many times and act accordingly.
While recalling his memories of Shiv-shahir, Mr Mohan Shete, the Founder-President of ‘Itihas-premi Mandal’ said that Babasaheb has created such a vacuum by his going that can never be filled. Babasaheb was basically a researcher. He visited various forts and collected many historical papers; checked the references and based on the study of all these papers, references, he published the book ‘Raja Shivchhatrapati’. His yearning to spread history to every common man is the uniqueness of Babasaheb Purandare. Babasaheb was also a freedom fighter.
Mr Kaustubh Deshpande, the President of ‘Veer-Ratna Baji Prabhu and Phulaji Prabhu Deshpande Smarak Pratishthan’ said , “We have to accept that going of Babasaheb has also taken away our living history. His going is a loss to our country and Hindutva. Had Babasaheb not written and preserved history, today’s scenario would have been quite different and our generations would have drifted in a different direction. Babasaheb was such a machinery who wanted to revive history, but there is one such government machinery which doesn’t want him to revive history.”
Mr Chetan Rajhans, the spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha said that the ten years before independence and ten years post-independence were filled with hatred towards Shiv Chhatrapati, who had never compromised his self-respect. The then Prime Minister Pandit Nehru had, however, referred to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a misguided patriot and a dacoit. It can be found in his book ‘Discovery of India’. During this period, there was a distortion of history. In 1958-59, ‘Shiv-shahir’ Babasaheb published the autobiography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, covering the period from his birth till his end; along with historical proofs. He proved that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was not a misguided patriot but he was the great leader who showed the path. The achievements of Babasaheb are unquestionable. Sanatan Sanstha had very close relations with him.
