Pandharpur (Maharashtra) :
Maharashtra Government has arranged a meeting with Warakaris on 9th January in connection with proposed anti-superstitions Bill; but the Government has not invited ‘Bheeshmacharya’ of Warakari Sect and the National President of ‘Rashtreeya Warakari Sena (RWS)’ H.B.P. Nivrutti Maharaj Vakte who strongly opposes the said proposed Act. It is due to the initiative taken by H.B.P.Vakte Maharaj that the State Government had to put the proposed Bill in cold storage. He had met the Chief Minister during demonstrations and submitted representation to him. The organizations that have been against the said Act from the beginning viz. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, pro-Hindu organizations, Jain Organisations, ‘Mahanubhav Panth’, Shri Sampradaya etc. have also been not invited for the said meeting. HJS had written to the Government on this subject; but the Government has not replied to the correspondence. It is therefore, thought that the Government has invited only those for the meeting, who are in favour of the said Act thus deceiving all Hindus. H.B.P. Bapu Maharaj Raokar, the President of RWS for Konkan region has, therefore, made an appeal through a circular for inviting H.B.P. Vakte Maharaj for the said meeting.Govt. planning meeting with Warakaris on anti-superstitions Act so as to divert Warakaris attention from fighting for their main problems !
In the last winter session of the State Legislative Assembly, the anti-superstitions Bill was not discussed; therefore, the Government will have to present it once again. Warakaris had staged huge agitation for their demands viz. implementation of Act banning cow-slaughter and providing basic amenities to Warakaris at Pandharpur. It was, therefore, expected that the issues important from the viewpoint of Warakaris would be discussed in the meeting called by the Government. It is, therefore, felt by the ‘Gou-rakshak Organizations’ of Warakaris that the said meeting has been called by the Government to divert their mind from the main issues.
