Pune (Maharashtra) : Animal welfare officers and activists of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Krushi Gou-seva Sangh (ABKGS)’ saved 20 bulls from slaughtering on 18th January. (Congratulations to animal welfare officers and activists of ABKGS for protecting cattle ! –  Editor SP)

10 healthy bulls were tied in inhuman manner and were being transported in ‘Eicher Tempo’ at 5.00 a.m. near Shirval (Dist. Satara). No provision for fodder and water was made while transporting them as is necessary under law. At Khandala Pargaon Police Station, a case has been filed against Mohammad Rafiq Yakub Qureshi (age-28 yrs, Res. of Mumbai), driver of the tempo.

As the activists were returning after saving 10 bulls, at 2.00 p.m., they observed that near Vadgaon Budruk bridge, 10 bulls were loaded in a tempo in cramped manner. They, therefore, relieved even these bulls, lodging a complaint against Mohammad Shabir Sheikh, the driver of that tempo. A case has been filed against Sheikh under clause 5, 6, 9 and 11 of ‘Maharashtra Animals Protection Act, 1976’. All animals have been sent to ‘Karuna Mandir’ and ‘Viralayam’ ‘Gou-shala’. The activists viz. Mr. Rajendra Waghmare, Mr. Shivshankar Swami, Mr. Suraj Chougule, Mr. Neelesh Vairat,Mr. Rhutik Vairat,Mr. Vishal Sapte,Mr. Suresh Shinde,Mr. Yashawant Surve,Mr. Suraj Deshmane,Mr. Sanjay Mohite and Mr. Heramb Nagare have made a demand with the police for taking stringent action against the accused.

Hindus should take inspiration from the activists who protected cattle at the cost of their sleep and food !

The ‘Gou-rakshaks (activists, protectors of cattle) stayed awake whole night on Thursday, 17th January and got nothing to eat on Friday, 18th January; but they managed to protect cattle.
