Prayagaraj (UP) : Swami Paripurnanand, who was fasting unto death for demanding the establishment of Shankar Chatushpath has gone missing for last 28 days; still, He is not traceable. When the matter came up for hearing before High Court, Allahabad on 28th January, police have maintained silence even at that time. Swami Avimukteshwaranand, a disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswati of Sharadapith has made serious allegations that the Police themselves have confined Swamiji. (It now appears that these allegations are true. The fact that U.P. police are being charged with abduction of a Hindu Saint is a sign of the police system turning a dictator ! – Editor SP)

When the petition came up for hearing before the High Court, the government pleader requested Court for granting more time to file the detailed information. Therefore, the Honourable Court adjourned the hearing till 30th January. However, Swami Avimukteshwaranand has expressed strong doubts on this issue. Swami Avimukteshwaranand said, “Since the police failed to find out the whereabouts of Swamiji, Hindus had to take recourse to High Court. The police are now trying to make Swami Paripurnanand as an accused in the case. This is nothing but a case of ‘Thief calling the cops’. Police themselves have confined Swamiji. Therefore, His whereabouts are still unknown. The Chief Minister should issue appropriate directives in this case.”
