Mauje Sangaon (District Kolhapur) : Today’s young generation is wandering around celebrating ‘Valentine’s Day’ which is associated with Western perversion. This kind of ‘day’ is a conspiracy to mislead the younger generation and a way for large establishments to make money. This is causing immeasurable damage to Indian culture along with economic losses. So, let’s banish ‘Valentine’s Day’ which is disturbing the social fabric by promoting wantonness, appealed Sou. Vijaya Vesnekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. A ‘Haldi-Kunkum’ ceremony was organized on 6th February at Mauje-Sangaon. She was addressing the attendees on the occasion.

At this time Mrs. Vesnekar also informed about the importance of Haldi-Kunkum ceremony and the importance of Rath Saptami. 100 women participated in the program. The program was organized by Mrs. Maya Dilip Patil the president of Namo Bachat Gat, and Gram Panchayat members. Sou. Bharti Patil provided space for the event. After the event, many women said that they liked the topic of lectures and that such lectures should be held everywhere.

1. Ms. Samiksha Patil, a young woman studying engineering, got her doubts resolved, and also requested a Dharmashikshan class for the young women.

2. Sou. Rupali Patil, Saraswati English School teacher, has asked for a lecture in the Haldi-Kunku program for parents at school which is to be organised on the occasion of Women’s Day. She said she would hold a similar event at her home.
