Temple trustees : We will fight for protection of temples with all our might !

Mumbai : A meeting was held at Sri Datta Mandir, MHB Colony, Borivali by ‘Mandir and Dharmik Sanstha Mahasangh’. Trustees of temples from Borivali, Kandivali and Malad attended the same. It was resolved by them to fight for protection of temples with all their might.

Action being taken by Municipal Corporation against 527 temples without giving any prior notice is condemnable. The temples are ancient and are seats of worship of all Hindus. Awareness will be created amongst people. The Government will be taken to task for its anti-Hindu policies and will be questioned in the forthcoming elections, said trustees. The fight was declared with acclamation of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. Trustees from Sri Ganesha Mandir, Sri Shiva Mandir, Hanuman Mandir and Sri Datta Mandir from Borivali and trustees from temples at Kandivali and Malad decided to fight with unity. Mr. Dr. Uday Dhuri, the President of ‘Mahasangh’ and Mr. Ramesh Sanil, its Vice President explained future course of action. Mr. Prasad Vadake of HJS created awareness about present condition of Hindus, taking over management of temples by the Government and anti-Hindu stand of BJP Government at Dhar (Madhya Pradesh) etc. Sav. Vaishali Bhandari gave a vote of thanks.

Trustees of ‘Mahasangha’ then met Mr. Rahul Shevale, the President of Standing Committee and submitted a representation to him for extension of 3 months in completing paperwork regarding objections, suggestions etc. Dy. Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Sudhir Naik accepted the representation on behalf of Commissioner. Similar representations were also given to Opposition party leaders, BJP’s group leaders, MNS group leaders and leaders of the Corporation.
