Mumbai : On Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s R.G.P.G grounds, cultural programs were allowed to be organized with prior permission of BMC, for 30 days in a year and continuously for 12 days as per the Court’s orders; but in terms of the new circular issued by BMC’s Commissioner, the ground will not be used for any religious or cultural programs, ‘Malawani Jatra Mahotsava’, cultural programs of Jain community, collective marriage ceremonies etc. This unjust circular is hurting religious sentiments of Hindus and this new circular issued by the BMC Commissioner should be cancelled immediately. The above demand has been made by BJP’s MLA, Shri. Gopal Shetty from Borivali, with the Chief Minister (CM) Pruthviraj Chavan. (The Govt. and Administration imposing ban on religious programs of Hindus; never oppose Muslims from reading ‘namaz’ on the roads. Only because Hindus are tolerant, such ban is imposed on their religious programs under some lame excuses. Congratulations to BJP, MLA Shri. Gopal Shetty for raising voice against anti-Hindu Govt. !- Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
Points mentioned by MLA, Shri. Gopal Shetty in his letter
1.The Court had passed an order few years back instructing BMC to allow organization of any religious or cultural programs on its R.G.P.G play-ground for 30 days in a year with 12 days continuously under MRTP Act; but some political party members met the Chief Minister and asked him to make changes in the Code. The BMC Commissioner has issued the new circular as per CM’s orders.
2. Owing to such circular, it will become difficult for Hindus to organize programs like ‘Rama-katha’, ‘Bhagavat-Saptah’, cultural programs of Jain community, marriage ceremonies etc. This is an issue related to religious sentiments of Hindus and can lead to communal disharmony. This unjust circular is hurting religious sentiments of Hindus and this new circcular immediately.
