  • Help by Nerul police !

First-aid team of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) was going around in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Raigad to extend assistance to the people meeting with accidents during ‘Dhuli-vandan’ as different malpractices take place on this day. Awareness was created amongst vendors of colours and citizens at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Dombivali (Thane) towards such malpractices resulting in their joining the drive. Under HJS mission of social help, protection of Nation and ‘Dharmajagruti’, this drive was taken up.

Malpractices reduced !

Panvel (Maharashtra) : At Panvel, New Panvel and Khanda Colony, the team was going round between 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. The team was headed by Dr. Bharat Bugade of HJS along with other activists. Other organizations, of similar views like HJS, also joined the drive and created awareness. It was observed that the incidents of malpractices reduced this year during ‘Dhuli-vandan’.

Mumbai : Nowadays, incidents like smearing of harmful colours to others, throwing balloons filled with dirty water etc. take place during ‘Holi’ festival till ‘Rang-panchami’. HJS tried to prevent such malpractices at Mumbai and New Mumbai. Announcements were being made on loudspeaker appealing people to prevent such wrong things which lead to causing harm to society as also to Dharma. Pamphlets were distributed on the occasion on the subject to create awareness. HJS carried its first-aid teams in vehicles going through various parts of the city like Girgaum, Dadar, Worli, Parel, Lalbaug, Andheri, Ghatkopar, Bhandup etc. in Mumbai and at Koparkhairane, Ghanasoli village, Vashi etc. in New Mumbai. Few injured persons were given first-aid on this occasion. The drive received very good response from people. Many people gave feedbacks like use of chemical colours, throwing of plastic bags filled with water, forceful collection of money should be stopped.

Feedbacks

1. Rambhai Gupta, Kopakhairane – People pay no heed to outside pollution but saying that religious festivals cause pollution; accuse only Dharma.

2. Vaibhav Salunkhe, Navi Mumbai – Everywhere water is being wasted. Pujya Asarambapu had bought the water and used it; but he is being defamed.

Sale of plastic bags used as balloons and chemical colours stopped in Dombivali !

Dombivali (Maharashtra) : Owing to lack of ‘Dharma-shikshan’, many malpractices occur on the day of ‘Holi’ festival and ‘Dhulivandan’. Activists of HJS explained the subject to sellers of colours and to citizens. Chemical colours or throwing balloons with coloured water at women does not lead to any spiritual benefits; in fact, it is causing harm to young generation; it has also increased number of accidents taking place on this occasion; therefore, the festival should be celebrated as per Dharma-shastra. Such awareness was created by the activists by going to many buildings.

Responses

1. When sellers were approached and explained the subject, many of them stopped selling water balloons and plastic bags.

2. A young man had come to buy plastic bags; when he was told about the topic; he agreed with the explanation and joined the activists in their drive to create awareness amongst people.

3. In one TV show-room, the owner of the shop said that throughout the day, he would play the CD made by Sanatan on how to celebrate ‘Holi’.
