8000 Warkaris warn the Govt. in ‘Mahasabha’


Teertha-kshetra Dehu (Dist. Pune, Maharashtra) : Maharashtra Rajya Warkari Mahamandal and Saint Tukaram Vagmaya Sanshodhan Mandal (Gaatha Mandir, Dehu) held ‘Maha-sabha’ on the ground of ‘Gaatha Mandir’. Main demands made with the Government during the ‘sabha’ were permanent cancellation of proposed anti-superstitions Act, Acts should be passed for protection of temples and ban on cow-slaughter, stringent action against those burning ‘Tukaram Gaatha’, places of pilgrimage to be freed from sale of meat and liquor and Rivers near places of pilgrimage to be made pollution-free. This ‘mahasabha’ was attended by 8000 Warkari brethren.
