Mumbai: Shri. Anami Roy, the Commissioner of Police has selected paintings by anti-Hindu painter MF Hussain. The paintings have been selected under their drive of maintaining undivided Mumbai (Unbreakable Mumbai) started by the police for their welfare fund. 300 banners with Hussain’s drawings have been displayed all over Mumbai. It is a very condemnable matter. On 5th May 2006, the Central Home Ministry issued an order for taking action against Hussain. By display of Hussain’s drawings, Mumbai Police has offended even the Central Home Ministry. Therefore, it is necessary to take immediate action against the Police Commissioner, was the demand made by Shri. Pandurang Fundkar, leader of opposition in State Legislative Council.
It is very disgusting that Mumbai police want to take help of such anti-Hindu painter who has drawn denigrating pictures of Hindu deities and even a nude drawing of Bharatmata. Cases have been lodged against the anti-Hindu painter in various parts of the country. Shri. Fundkar remarked that police would take help of even goon like Ibrahim Dawood if there is shortage of funds. The national front Government has control over nothing. Instead of keeping an eye on activities of Hussain, Mumbai police has hurt feelings of all Hindus by selecting his drawings. Shri Fundkar has raised a query whether the selection of drawings was done in consultation with Shri. R. R. Patil, the State Home Minister.
