Assembly elections in Karnataka

Bengaluru (Karnataka) : State Assembly elections will be held in the month of May in Karnataka and in this background, all political parties and organizations interested in contesting elections are preparing for the same in full swing. As a part of these preparations, many organizations have sought support of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and showed interest in making HJS activists as their representatives to fight elections.

MLA of Janata Dal (Secular) met Shri. Mohan Gauda, the spokeperson of HJS for Karnataka and sought support of HJS. Shri. Gauda explained to him that the party which will publish points of protecting Hindus’ interests in its manifesto and is working for establishment of Hindu Rashtra, will be supported by HJS. Also, HJS is not a political organization; therefore, it cannot openly give support to any party.

Few spiritual organizations are coming together and are interested in contesting elections in 20 State Assembly constituencies. In these constituencies, BJP took anti-Hindu decisions during its regime e.g. demolition of temples etc.  These spiritual organizations are of the opinion that devotees undertaking spiritual practice can only bring about real changes in this country.  These spiritual organizations are asking HJS to contest elections at 1-2 places through its activists.

Hindu Mahasabha has also decided to contest elections in the interest of Hindus and has made an appeal to HJS activists to fight elections on Hindu Mahasabha’s ticket.
