Mumbai : Lakshmi-Narayan are worshipped by all Hindus. Their picture has been printed by Kinjin Food Pvt. Ltd. on small boxes packing asafoetida manufactured by the Company leading to denigration of the Deities. Hindus are, therefore, expressing severe anger against the above Company and they have taken their complaints to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, the Coordinator of HJS, therefore, contacted the Company but he was told that their product was very old and they have not done any denigration.Sou. Varsha Thakar of HJS requested Sou. Smita Thakkar of the Company for a meeting but she gave evasive answers. (Kinjin Food Pvt. Ltd. and Sou. Smita Thakkar, are ‘Dharma-drohis’ for denigrating Hindus’ seats of worship and for giving evasive answers after explanation of the subject ! Will the Company dare to denigrate objects of worship of Muslims in such manner or to give evasive answers? Hindus are tolerant; therefore, anyone and everyone makes mockery of their seats of worship. There is no alternative to unification of Hindus for bringing about a change in this situation ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabaht) Later, HJS wrote a letter to the Company demanding removal of picture of Lakshmi-Narayan from the covering of the said product.

HJS has said in its letter, “As per Hindu Dharma, pictures of Deities are for worshipping and seeking their blessings; but when non-vegetarian food is cooked in kitchen, it leads to denigration of pictures of Deities on the container of asafoetida; also after using the product, the container is thrown in trash; thus the pictures lay in dirt, are trampled. This is hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. As per Indian Trade Practices Act, 1999, it is a law that no religious symbols should be used on commercial products. It is a breach of this law. Such things take place as Hindus are tolerant compared to Fanatics. If the Company does not take note of this, Hindus will boycott such products.”

When HJS followed up the matter with the Company, instead of giving positive response, the Company informed HJS through its advocate that ‘The Company does not want to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments. Our Company has been using this cover with Deities’ pictures since 1952 in lawful manner. This is not leading to any sin; in fact, these pictures have been used by the Company to seek Deities’ blessings.’ (Deities’ blessings are not bestowed on those who make use of them for benefit in their business; but a person worshipping them with devotion, only gets their blessings. This incident shows the dire need of ‘Dharma-shikshan’ amongst Hindus ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

Hindus’ religious sentiments have been hurt due to such anti-Dharma and stubborn standpoint of the Company and they are registering protests, in lawful manner on the following address.
