"We want M.F. Husain arrested immediately. We want him behind the bars for insulting the Sentiments of Hindus and Nationalists. Husain has insulted Mother India by showing her in a compromising and nude posture and this is a heinous National Crime.", said Mr Madhav Deshpande, the invitor of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti.

The nude painting of Mother India by M.F. Husain was planned to be put in an international level auction where the estimated cost of the nude painting was Rs. 1.5 Crore. This money was to go to the Kashmir Earthquake victims.
