Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) : On the occasion of ‘Ram Navami’, a procession is taken out every year at Birmitrapur village near Rourkela. This year, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) tried to create awareness amongst people towards protection of nation and Dharma through ‘flex’ boards displayed on ‘Dharma-rath’. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ‘Akhada’ members distributed 2000 handbills prepared by HJS during this procession.
1. Ten ‘Akhadas’ participate in the procession from different parts of the city. Some members of ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Akhada’ were impressed with activities undertaken by HJS and they prepared ‘Dharma-rath’ in their ‘Akhada’ by calling for ‘Flex’ boards prepared by HJS on various topics.
2. ‘Dharma-rath’ was decorated with boards with matter like ‘Only solution on terrorism and naxalism is Hindu 'Rashtra' based on righteousness’; ‘There is not a single Hindu 'Rashtra' in the world’ etc. written on them. A big board with real weapons like swords, spears etc. was mounted on this ‘ratha’. This ‘ratha’ looked different from others in the procession which created awareness amongst people as they were reading with interest, messages on protection of Dharma and ‘Rashtra’ on the ‘flex’ boards.
3. A meeting was held prior to ‘Ram Navami’ for preparations of the procession in which Shri. Prakash Malondkar of HJS explained the importance of Ram Navami and ‘Dharma-jagruti’. Shri. Malondkar explained few points about spiritual significance of ‘Ram Navami’ and importance of abiding by Dharma for unification of Hindus. The members asked to hold ‘Dharma-shikshan’ class once in fortnight.
4. Similar procession was taken out at Devgaon near Rourkela. In this procession, besides, ‘float’, ‘Shivaji Akhada’ displayed cloth banners on ‘Dharma-jagruti’ with different enlightening sayings even on other vehicles; thus propagating Dharma. ‘Akhada’ members distributed about 1000 handbills on ‘Ram Navami’ amongst people.
