Intense agitation if mandatory Bible instruction to Hindu students in convent schools is not stopped!

Chiplun : Articles 29 and 30 of the Indian Constitution provide for the teaching of religion in minority educational institutions. According to this, it is understandable if the Bible is taught to Christian children. However, if this religious coercion of forcing the Hindu majority students to learn the Bible is not stopped, there will be an intense agitation. The HJS led a Rashtriya Hindu Andolan in the old ST Stand here from 11 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. Shri. Sachin Sakpal of the HJS coordinated the agitation. After the agitation, a memorandum was issued to Deputy Tahsildar T.S. Shejal in this regard.

Incidents of Hindu students being forced to study the Bible in convent schools are coming to light. Forcing Hindu students to study the Bible is an unconstitutional act and will be opposed.

If Articles 29 and 30 of the Constitution are being used by Christian educational institutions to force people to study the Bible, then both articles need to be amended.

The government should curb the arbitrariness of convent schools that do not allow Hindu students to wear Tilak, Kumkum-Tikli, and hold school examinations during Hindu religious festivals.

Mahendra Chaalke of Sanatan Sanstha, the Samiti’s Shri. Santosh Ghorpade and Shri. Jagdish Yadav and 55 other devout Hindus were present.
