Gulbarga (Karnataka) : The former deputy chief minister and congress leader Mr. Siddaramiah declared that if the Congress party comes to power in the next assembly election, it would roll back the controversial Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation (Amendment) Bill 2012 at the very first instance.

Speaking at the third minority convention of his party here on Jan 5, Mr. Siddaramiah further said that the Bill violates human rights and the BJP government had no right to pass it while it lacked majority at that time.  A galaxy of party leaders especially from the Muslim community was present on the dais to ensure the success of the convention.

After the two triumphs at Tumkur and Belgaum, the leaders appeared confident in making tall promises to the Muslim community to ensure that their party is the true messiah of Muslims. They missed no opportunity to warn and alarm Muslims to be vigilant from fake secular parties and leaders.

Minister for Minority Affairs, Mr. K. Rahman Khan said that our elders had sacrificed much for the country and the community had long history of affiliation with the party. His ministry had established a grievances cell which would work round the clock. The ministry was serious in implementation of Rajendar Sachar Committee’s recommendations, said Mr. Khan.

Party’s state president Dr. G. Parmeshwar declared enthusiastically, if voted to power it would establish a separate commission for the education of minorities. The convention was held under the president of the local MLA Mr. Qamarul Islam.

Convenor of the conventions Mr. Naseer Ahmed MLC presented a brief report of the previous conventions in his inaugural address. Some resolutions that were passed in the previous conventions were renewed here with few amendments. Hosts of other leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Firoze Nooruddin Sait, R.Roshan Baig, N.A.Haris, Youth Congress president Rizwan Arshad also spoke on the occasion.
