Existence of holy Indian cows is in danger due to Goa Government’s granting schemes for cross-bred cows !

Panaji (Goa) : Goa Government has started different schemes like purchase of hybrid cows and buffaloes for increasing milk production; for breeding and nurturing of imported / hybrid cows and for their fodder and stables through Animal Husbandry Department. There is no scheme for nurturing of Indian cows amongst these schemes. As a result, Indian cows revered by Hindus for their milk, ‘Gou-mutra’ and ‘Gou-maya’ which have medicinal values, are on the verge of elimination. ‘Kamdhenu Yojana’, ‘Sthaneeya Gaya-sankar Yojana (local cow-hybrid scheme)’, ‘Vishesh Gaya-samvardhan Yojana (Scheme to nurture special species of cows)’, ‘Adhunik Dugdha Vyvasaya Yojana (Modern Dairy Business scheme)’, ‘Hirava Chara Yojana (Green fodder scheme)’, ‘Pashchim Ghat Pashu Kharedi Yojana (Purchase of animals from Western Ghat scheme)’ are the names of these schemes.

Under these schemes, the Government gives grants only for purchase of hybrid cows like jersey cows and for their nurturing. Under ‘Kamdhenu’ scheme, grant of thousands of rupees is given for purchase of an imported cow or buffalo. The local hybrid cow scheme is detrimental for Indian cows as the Government is planning to develop 400 hybrid species from these cows. Doctors from Animal Husbandry Department will do the job of cross-breeding of cows without charging anything. (The Government, which is undertaking schemes to cross-breed cows with imported cows only from the commercial angle, is enemy of future generations. People should take the Government to task ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) Under this scheme, sperm of imported cows and fodder will be provided to farmers for free. (Will Parrikar Govt. explain why such scheme is not available for Indian cows? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) Any farmer can catch stray cows for cross-breeding which will solve the problem of stray cattle; therefore, the Government has devised such scheme. (Mental deterioration of Govt.! Stray cows roam on the roads; so instead of catching them and sending them to ‘Gou-shala’, the Government is devising schemes to destroy their existence. Is such Government fit to rule? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) Under scheme of nurturing special cows, the Government has planned to provide fodder for every hybrid cow for 15 months. 100 kgs of fodder will be provided for three months. Under modern dairy business, 30% grant will be given for constructing stables for hybrid cows, machines for milking of cows and fodder. Farmers having hybrid cows, will be given grants per hectare for growing green fodder. Under western ghat sale of animals scheme, farmers from Kankon, Sattari, Sange will be given 50% grant for purchase of cross-bred cows.
