Ramnathi (Goa) : ‘Many criminal cases have been registered against me while performing the act of protecting cows, but I do not feel sorry for it. If a criminal case is registered against you while protecting a cow, consider it as an honourable deed. Such opinion was expressed by Shri. Shailesh Holla, Trustee of Kamdhenu Trust, Karnataka.
While speaking on the experiences perceived regarding the Police, creating obstacles in the mission of cow-protection, Shri. Shailesh Holla said,
1. Six years back, a school-going child was asked a question as to how he got milk. He replied he received milk through a person delivering it on a bicycle. It was then realised that the future generation is totally unaware about the cow.
2. As a result, we undertook a campaign to create awareness about cow-protection at school level. We published books for this purpose. One of these books was also banned by the Government.
3. Question-answer competitions are also held on the topic of cow-protection as a part of this campaign. Through the medium of this campaign, 12 lakh students in Karnataka became aware about the importance of cows.
