Thane (Maharashtra) : A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a pastor at his residence on the pretext of marrying her, police said today.

The accused Bijuman K L (32) also forced the teenager to undergo abortion after she became pregnant and threatened to release her obscene pictures on the social media if she disclosed the matter to anyone, they said, adding the accused is on the run.

Police sub-inspector S P Barve of Shree Nagar police station said the girl, a resident of Pereira Nagar locality in the city, apparently entered into physical relationship with Bijuman after the latter promised to marry her but went back on his word after she became pregnant.

"The victim told us that she and Bijuman had been in relationship since September 2012 and the accused used to 'rape' her at his residence near the church after spiking her drink with sedatives", Barve said.

Police said the girl did not reveal the matter to anyone as the pastor had threatened to kill her and her family members.

Bijuman has been booked under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 328 ( Causing hurt by means of poison, etc), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the complaint of the girl, police added.
