Chiplun (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) is striving for the mission of establishing Hindu Rashtra with 5 aims, namely, Dharmashikshan (Education on Dharma), Dharmajagruti (Awakening about Dharma), Dharmarakshan, Rashtrarakshan (Protecting the nation) and Hindu Sanghatan (Uniting Hindus). HJS is completing 20 years on 26th September, 2022. To mark this momentous event, HJS has started a nationwide Hindu Rashtra Sankalp’ campaign on Ganesh Chaturthi. This campaign enthusiastically commenced on 29th August at Shri Kshetra Parshurambhumi in Chiplun.

Bhagwan Parshuram had both Brahmatej (radiance of Knowledge) and Kshatratej (radiance of a warrior). He destroyed unrighteous and established Dharma (Rightenousness). Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ had worshipped Bhagwan Parshuram prior to his coronation in 1661. Samarth Ramdas Swami was his Guru. In front of this temple was Samarth Ramdas Swami had instated a south facing Shri Hanuman temple. Thus, this place is not only a site of religious importance, it is also a heritage site from the historical and Dharmik perspective. It is a good omen that this major campaign being undertaken as HJS completes 20 years is being flagged off from this temple.

History of the establishment of HJS

In 2002 ‘Parivartanvadi Vichar Manch’, a self proclaimed progressive group had ridiculed Hindu icons with statements like ‘Ravan did not abduct Sita, Sita eloped with Ravan’. Local devout Hindus had opposed this in a legal manner. Local Hindus took note of the repeated denigration of Hindu Deities through plays, movies, advertisements, programmes, etc. and held a meeting in the Shri Vireshwar temple in Chiplun to unite and awaken Hindus. This is how, on the auspicious date of ‘Ghatasthapana’ in Navaratri, HJS was founded.

Despite Hindus being in majority, the secular attitude is a major hurdle to Hindu Dharma. To overcome this we need to vocally exercise our right to demand a Hindu Rashtra. Hindu organisations need to unite for this. Hindus should become the footsoldiers of Hindu Rashtra and render whatever service they can.

We are grateful to each and every person who has helped spread the Samiti’s mission across the nation in a short time – Mr Manoj Khadye, HJS coordinator Paschim Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat

Mr Manoj Khadye

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti was founded on this sacred land of Bhagwan Parshuram. When HJS was founded, most Hindus were insensitive or ignorant about the denigration of Hindu Deities in a country having Hindu majority. Some were sensitive to the issue but helpless; but soon after HJS was founded, a large nationwide movement against the denigration of Hindu Deities took birth. Even today, this movement inspires the common public. Due to the wholehearted participation of all, the blessings of Saints- Mahants and active participation of devout Hindus, the seed that was sown in Chiplun has grown into an expansive tree spanning the entire nation. A success which defies all imagination! Individuals and organisations from all walks of life have contributed to this mission. We are grateful to each one of them, said Mr Manoj Khadye, the HJS coordinator Paschim Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat.
