Decision to give independent religious status to ‘Lingayat’ community is Congress strategy to ‘Divide and rule’ ! – Dr. Uday Dhuri, HJS
Mumbai : In view of the coming Assembly elections in Karnataka Congress Govt. has decided to give an independent status to ‘Lingayat’ community in the State. In the meeting of the State Ministers held on 19th March they have decided to propose this to the Central Govt.
Actually Shaivas and Vaishnavas are the two basic elements of Hindu Dharma. Mission Incarnate, and spiritual Saints are the ones who can establish Dharma. Political rulers are not authorised to take such a decision. In opposition to this decision concerning independent status to Lingayat community, a movement was undertaken outside the Dadar railway station by the Samiti on 23rd March.
He was addressing the audience gathered there. Working President of Veershaiva Lingayat Mahasangh and spokesperson Dr. Vijay Jangam along with other volunteers of various Hindutvanishtha organisations were present there.
Dr. Dhuri said further, “In 2013, the then Central Congress Govt had dismissed the similar proposal. The Same Govt. now is taking a decision to give independent Lingayat Dharma for the sake of votes.
An independent Lingayat Dharma means religious attack on the nation ! – Dr. Vijay Jangam
‘Akhil Bharatiya Veershaiva Mahasabha’ representing the Veershaiva Lingayat Community all over the country has opposed it. Shrishail Jagadguru Dr. Channasiddha Panditaradhya expressed that, ‘It is inappropriate to divide Dharma in the name of Mahatma Basaveshwar’. Jagadgurus at Rambhapuri and Kashi have opposed this decision. Lingayat has no connection to Dharma, it is a Diksha-sanskar. Veershaiva Dharmagurus have opposed separate Lingayat Dharma vehemently. We are proud that we are Hindus. Why should we be ashamed of that for which we must be proud of. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born in this religion and he established Hindavi Swarajya. In the same way we have to established Hindu Rashtra. An independent Lingayat Dharma is a religious attack on the nation.
