Jodhpur : Hindu Mahasabha of America (HMSA) donated tents to Pakistani Hindu refugees based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan May 18. A total of six tents were donated, providing accommodation relief to eight families out of 33 who are residing there.

Along with HMSA, two other Hindu American organizations donated three more tents a day before. The donation event was coordinated with the help of Jodhpur Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal leaders.

A total of 33 families reside at the camp, comprising approximately 70 children, eight women and 90 men, as per a recent update. Hundreds more families arrived two weeks ago from the Sindh province of Pakistan.

The exodus of Pakistani Hindus has exponentially increased in the past two years due to grave human rights violations in Pakistan. More and more Hindu organizations are uniting to help Pakistani Hindu refugees in India.

Along with relief efforts, Hindu organizations are also creating awareness of human rights violations at federal and state levels in their respective countries, including protests at Pakistani consulates to seek immediate Pakistani government intervention in safeguarding Hindu human rights in Pakistan.

HMSA has previously also written to the Jodhpur district collector regarding the provision of safe accommodation. The efforts of Hindu organizations are creating an impact, with the Jodhpur district administration allowing shelter to the refugee group. Local schools have also come forward to admit young children into their schools.
