Pune – A training workshop on CPR was organized here by the Arogya Sahayya Samiti of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Anesthesiologist Dr. Jyoti Kale guided the attendees on the importance of first aid in case of sudden cardiac arrest, i.e. giving ‘CPR’, the correct method of giving it, the qualities required for it. The program was organized in collaboration with the Anesthesiology Department of Navale Hospital.
A life can be saved by just one or two persons at any time, on the road, at home or anywhere else without any equipment and expert doctors available. The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists is conducting such activities all over the country to bring this technique to the common people. The ISA expressed happiness that the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti activists took the initiative in participating in this activity.
Workshop attendees
Dr. Kavita Adate of the ISA and other fellow doctors demonstrated the CPR technique on a dummy. After this each trainee practiced CPR under the supervision of a doctor. They were also taught how to administer CPR to infants and children. Many people benefited from this program.
