Dismiss the Government officials who are supporting the corrupt by disrespecting the Court and the Legislature ! – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
Nagpur : The State Crime Investigation Department had made a significant recommendation to file a case under Sections 406, 409, 420, 476, 468, 471, 109, 34 of the IPC Code 9 against 9 auctioneers, 5 tehsildars and 2 others who were involved in donation box scam amounting to Rs. 8,45,97,000 in Kulswamini Shi Tuljabhavani temple of Maharashtra. Due to the order of the Sambhajinagar High Court and the Legislature, while this investigation is going on, instead of taking strict action against the corrupt, the Deputy Secretary of the Home Department has taken a shocking decision to dismiss the said investigation. This decision is in contempt of the Legislature, as well as the High Court, which is overseeing the inquiry. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Maharashtra has demanded that the pro-Hindu Government of Maharashtra should immediately sack the relevant officials who are abusing their authority and supporting the corrupt and defying the Court; so also, give strict punishment to the sinners who are resorting to corrupt practices in the temple of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s family-Deity Tuljabhavani and thereby, send a strong message to the Hindu society. This demand was made by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Convenor for the States of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh Mr Sunil Ghanwat in a press conference at Nagpur.

President of ‘Lokjagruti Morcha’ Adv. Raman Senad, National Spokesperson of ‘Sanatan Sanstha’ Mr Chetan Rajhans, Adv. Vaishali Paranjape, of ‘Hindu Vidhigya Parishad’ and Mr. Srikanth Pisolkar, Vidarbha coordinator of the HJS was also present during the press conference.
After the corruption of crores of Rupees in donation box auctions between 1991 and 2009, the case was investigated by the State Crime Investigation Department since 2011 as per the demand of the legislature; but because of the involvement of Government officials and people’s representatives, even after 4-5 years, the investigation was not progressing. Therefore, HJS filed a Public Interest Litigation in 2015 in Sambhajinagar High Court with the help of Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad. During the course of the hearings, three times the Court had reprimanded the investigating officers saying that the investigation was not going on properly. Finally, as per the order of the Court, in the year 2017, the above investigation report of the CID was submitted to the Home Department; however, since no action was taken even after five years, HJS again filed two petitions in the year 2022. The Court asked the Government that ‘even after five years, why no action has been taken against the culprits?’ It has come to light since, that the Government officials have mutually decided to close the investigation citing this case is 30 years old and there are irregularities in the case. The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court in the case of ‘Lalithakumari v/s Government of Uttar Pradesh, 2014(2) S.C.C.No.1′ has ordered registration of criminal cases because of the cognizable offence’. It is incorrect to close the Tuljapur case without identifying the culprits when there is a scam of Rs. 8.5 crores. If the great sinners who looted the Divine wealth get away and are not punished, they will not look back to loot other temples again. Therefore, we demand that “CID” should immediately file a case against those found guilty and take strict action against them.
