Non Bailable Warrant against MF Hussain

Haridwar: A Haridwar court issued non-bailable warrant and order for seizure of property order on Friday evening against internationally acclaimed painter MF Husain in connection with a case related to obscene paintings.

The order came in connection with a private complaint case filed by a local advocate Arvind Srivastav about a year ago blaming Hussain for hurting sentiments of Indians in two paintings titled Bharat Mata and Krsihna.

According to Srivastava, Special Judicial Magistrate Kali Shankar Prasad passed the order against Hussain as he failed to appear before the court on four earlier occasions. Thirteen witnesses were produced in the case by the plaintiff who alleged that Husain was in the habit of making such paintings.
