HJS activists and devotees of H. H. Asaram Bapu arrested and released for protest

Demonstrations by HJS against defamation of H. H. Asaram Bapu and likely ban on Sanatan Sanstha
Hindus, holding demonstrations in lawful manner, are promptly taken into custody by police even when police had got beaten up at the hands of fanatics during riots at Azad Maidan !

Nagpur (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had organised demonstrations at ‘Jhanshi chi Rani Chowk’ in Bardi area on 1st September between 3.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m., with prior permission of police; to protest against defamation of H. H. Asaram Bapu and likely ban on Sanatan Sanstha. Police, however, asked to wind up the demonstrations before time and arrested few activists of HJS and devotees of H. H. Asaram Bapu. (Police have become slaves of Congress Government and working only for throttling Hindus’ voice ! Will police take similar action in case of Muslims ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

When the demonstrations were going on, the special branch of police called up HJS activists at 4.00 p.m. to inform them that the number of activists participating in the demonstrations, has increased causing obstruction to traffic and they should wind up demonstrations. As a result, HJS concluded demonstrations at 5.10 p.m.

Incidents after demonstrations

1. After HJS demonstrations, few devotees of H. H. Asaram Bapu raised slogans against media and the demonstrations held by devotees led to jamming traffic for 15 – 20 minutes.

2. Activists of HJS tried to make them understand but they were in no mood to listen. Later, 3 police vehicles reached the place of incident and these devotees calmed down clearing the way.

3. Then local police inspector reached there and asked for names of 5 activists of HJS and 5 devotees from H. H. Asaram Bapu Sampradaya.

4. Activists of HJS and devotees of H. H. Asaram Bapu were taken to police station. Two activists of HJS and 4 devotees of H. H. Bapu were detained at the police station.

5. Police were constantly asking that who were responsible; how so many people gathered ? etc. HJS activists told police that it happened after 10 minutes of winding up the demonstrations. Police warned HJS activists that they took police permission and it was their responsibility to see that such things should not happen. (Such things are happening because the Government is unnecessarily harassing Hindu Saints; therefore, the Government is only responsible for such things ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

6. Senior police officers questioned HJS activists and filed cases against activists and devotees of H. H. Asaram Bapu under Section 132 (A) and they were asked to fill up applications for arrest as well as for release.

7. At 10. 40 p.m. police released HJS activists and devotees and warned them that permission would not be granted to them in future; for holding demonstrations in their jurisdiction. (In democratic regime if police are not going to grant permission for protesting in lawful manner, it is dictatorship of police ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
