Repeal the anti-Hindu Places of Worship Act 1991 immediately

Outraged Hindus protest in the ‘Hindu Rashtra-Jagruti Andolan’ in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh).

Varanasi : Places of Worship Act 1991 was enacted to suppress the just demand of Hindus related to thousands of religious places like Kashi, Mathura, Bhojshala in Madhya Pradesh etc.. On the other hand the Wakf Board was empowered to declare any property as ‘Wakf property’. All Indians have the constitutional right to go to court with their demands; But due to the ‘Places of Worship Act 1991’ law, if anyone has encroached on Hindu temples before the year 1947, one cannot approach the courts to reclaim the temple. This law is unjust towards the Hindus as well as unconstitutional. Therefore a ‘Hindu Rashtra-Jagruti Andolan’ was held at Shastri Ghat, Varuna Bridge here to demand that the law should be repealed immediately.

Swami Brahmayanand of Bharat Sevashram Sangh, Dr Sohanlal Arya (a staunch Hindu who has been struggling for the liberation of Kashi Vishwanath temple for the last 32 years), Founder of ‘Panchachakra Hanuman Chalisa’ Mr Rajkumar Patel, Former Regional Vice President of Hindu Yuva Vahini Mr. Manish Pandey, Mr. Ashutosh Pandey from ‘Kali Mahal’, Mr. Shubham Pandey of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’, Sita Sahu (petitioner in the Sringargauri Temple case), Uttar Pradesh and Bihar State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Mr Vishwanath Kulkarni, Mr. Rajan Kesari and Mrs. Prachi Juvekar of Sanatan Sanstha and other dignitaries participated in this protest.
