Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mohan Gowda said that this construction is in gross violation of the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission’s regulations of 2005 and also a challenge to the maintenance of law and order in the area. Though there have been complaints by the locals, it is surprising that there has been no action to stop this illegal construction. Would the authorities maintain a similar oblivious stand related to illegal construction by Hindus ? Why is the BBMP silent on the illegal construction by other communities ? The BBMP authorities must take this issue seriously and ensure steps to stop the construction of the illegal Masjid immediately. If the authorities fail in their duty, we will be forced to take recourse through the Hon. High Court.
Mr Mohan Gowda, State Spokesperson, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Mrs Shakila Shetty, Vijaya Vivek Prathisthana, Bengaluru, Mr Premanand, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Bommanahalli, Mrs Shubha B Naik, Advocate, Karnataka High Court, Adv. Guruprasad, Adv. Gangadhar and members of Forum for Hindu Organisations were part of the delegation.
